So much energy is spent each day worrying about what to wear, how big your arms are or how flabby ur tummy...

Live in the now and be happy you have a healthy body! Life is so beautiful and precious!

Shoe Style Guide

Ankle Strap

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-ankle-strap-600x411

Best suited for taller, thinner legs. The ankle strap can cut the line of the leg, making it seem less long and lean.

Chunky Heel

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-chunky-heel-600x411

Also best for taller and thinner legs, a thicker heel can be too heavy for a shorter frame and will draw attention down, taking away from a long and lean silhouette.

Cutaway Arch

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-cutaway-arch-600x411

Can be used on shorter legs to make them appear longer and leaner. The cutaway and pointy toe add length to the leg. This is a good choice if you need a lower heel but still want to benefits of a higher heel.

Flats

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-flats-600x411

Flats can work for any body, but be sure to notice that a pointier toe will elongate your legs—good for petites and heavier legs, while a more rounded toe works better on longer, leaner legs.

Kitten Heel

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-kitten-heel-600x411

A kitten heel is a great substitute for a high heel. It will be a trend this summer and is a sexy option for gaining some height and lengthening a petite or heavier leg without killing yourself in a high heel.

Knee-High Boot

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-knee-high-boots-600x411

Knee-high boots will cut your leg in half unless worn with matching tights. This may not be the best choice for petites or heavier legs; however, if you are tall and lean, a knee-high boot can be used to balance an outfit and your proportions to complete an outfit.

Peep-Toe Shoe

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-peep-toe-600x411

Works for all body shapes, heights and weights. It is extra sexy when paired with a platform for extra height. It does not break the line of the leg, creating a long, lean silhouette. Plus, it shows a couple toes and maybe a pop of toenail color—very sexy!

Pointy-Toed Heel

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-pointy-toed-heel-600x411

Also works for almost all bodies. I do not recommend it for taller, leaner legs, as it will only make you seem taller and leaner. However, for the rest of you, it is a closet must-have, especially in black!

Round-Toed Heel

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-round-toed-heel-600x411

Best for taller, leaner bodies; it cuts the line of the leg and can make shorter, heavier legs seem shorter and heavier.

Square-Toed Heel

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-square-toed-heel-600x411

Good only for taller, leaner legs, as it cuts the line of the leg abruptly in a similar manner to the round-toed heel.

Sling Back

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-sling-back-600x411
Perfect for all body types. This is style is also nice with a platform for added height and can be found with a peep toe. This combination makes for a very sexy shoe!

Strappy Stiletto
Also good for all body types—just be careful not to choose one that has an ankle strap if that does not suit your body type.

Wedge

20100630-bradley-bayou-shoe-wedge-600x411

Excellent for all body types. This is a great choice if you need the stability of a thicker heel but should stay away from a chunky heel. A wedge can also be found in a variety of heel heights and with a platform for added height.

Understanding your body shape is crucial in having in a wardrobe filled with clothes that look great on you and that you feel confident in. Usually we only wear a selection of the clothes we have in the wardrobe and always fall back on old favorites that get worn all the time.

Statistics say that we only wear 20% of our wardrobe! On average we have at least 100 garments in total in our wardrobe with an approximate price tag of $75 per garment and when we do the maths…..this works out to be a minimum of (80% x 100 x $75 =) $6000 worth of clothes that are in your wardrobe that could be spent on basics and styles that work for your body shape.

Why do we buy things and never wear them? There could be a variety of reasons but one of the main contributors is that the style simply just does not suit your shape!

So what is your shape? Well there are 6 main female body shapes:

1. Hourglass ***Click Here for Hourglass Fashion Do's and Don'ts***
A body shape that has a well balanced upper and lower body with a well defined waist. Your aim is to wear shapely garments especially at the waist, wear soft fabrics, emphasise curves without cluttering and wear straight and slightly flared pants and skirts (pencil skirts exaggerates the curve from the hip to the knee).

2. Triangle or Pear ***Click Here for Pear Fashion Do's and Don'ts***
The most common female body shape with a bottom-heavy frame arising from narrow shoulders, a small waist and a heavy bottom. Your aim is to create balance by visually broadening your upper body by using clothing with horizontal lines on your upper body, by bringing the attention upwards to the bust area. Puff sleeves broaden the shoulders to balance your lower body. Dresses that are body-hugging on the top, accentuate your tiny waist and then drape outwards, drawing a discreet veil over the width of your thighs. Wrap dresses are a great style to try.

3. Rectangle ***Click Here for Rectangle Fashion Do's and Don'ts***
A common body shape that has a columnar boxy silhouette that comes through in a similar circumference of the bust, waist and hips. Your aim is to add definition to the shape by visually elongating body and defining the shoulders (if you are overweight) or defining the waist (if your are slender). Dresses that wrap or flow through the waistline, feminine chiffon softens your shape. High waisted dresses (like a wrap dress) will add definition to your shape.

4. Inverted Triangle ***Click Here for Inverted Triangle Fashion Do's and Don'ts***
A body shape that has an upper-body-heavy frame arising from a large bust and proportionally narrow hips. Your aim is to create balance with the upper and lower body by creating the impression of a wider bottom and drawing the attention away from the upper body. Use clothing with horizontal lines lower body and use vertical lines upper body.

5 & 6 Oval and Diamond ***Click Here for Oval and Diamond Fashion Do's and Don'ts***
A body shape that has a undefined waist, a large low (Oval) or high (Diamond) stomach and a tendency to have love handles. The hips are broad and the upper thighs are generous. This woman may also have either a large or a flat bottom. Your aim is to visually elongate the body and pull the attention toward the head and shoulders. Draw attention away from the middle area upward to the face, shoulder and neck areas. By creating length in the torso you will have a longer more flattering silhouette.
