5 Great strategies to Fulfillment as a Single Parent by Single Parents University Part 1

As a Stylist I meet many people who have recently separated and who have had a huge transformation in their life style. All of a sudden S.I.N.G.L.E again. What to wear, what to say, not sure what works any more, lost that sense of confidence in what to wear.

I am happily married to my gorgeous husband Sal but he has experienced being a single parent to 3 great kids 15 years ago and I know how hard it was for him! So when I heard of Single Parents University and their CD program I wanted to share it with you.

Below you will find an introduction to Single Parent University (SPU) and tomorrow the Founders of SPU will share an article "
5 Great strategies to change your feelings from Failure to Fulfillment - Be Proud of Yourself" with you so stay tuned!

www.singleparentsuniversity.com (SPU) was set up to support Single Parents through the process of separation, divorce and beyond. It was created in the spirit of reaching out to single parents, just like us and sharing insights on how to become single, strong and successful.

SPU provides a safe environment to access support and practical advice, with proven strategies and resources, to encourage Single Parents to discover hope and provide them with a vision for a better future.

Most people know of someone who is going through a separation or divorce. If it is yourself, then you will relate to this article even more. When you first realise that this is real and not just a nightmare – that your marriage is over you have to get on with your life, It’s like starting all over again. Actually, it’s better than that,  you now have experience behind you, of what you like, do not like, and of how you want and Image001don’t want to be treated.

This daunting time can actually be the beginning of the best years of your life.  Hard to believe now, I know, but if you take the right steps and get the right information to learn from it all, you will look back and realise it was a major, positive turning point in your life.

So YOU are a SINGLE Parent Now.  Yes, SINGLE, again! Overwhelming, maybe, but let us face the facts, your life has changed and now you have the opportunity to create it just the way you want. You, like me, changed. In the way you dressed, did your hair, what you bought, what you ate and what activities you were allowed to do. These were all subject to the approval, or, in some cases the “ordering” of your ex-partner.  You have probably changed your personality too – become quieter or snappier. Now it’s time to look at the type of person that YOU want to be!

That’s why Angela from Style Angel Corporation suggested we help people like you. Our Single Parents University Program “The 7 Steps to being Single, Strong & Successful” will guide you through the process of rebuilding your self confidence and getting to re-establish who you are.

Style In.....Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, MEXICO by Eva van Heck

What Place are you writing about?
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, MEXICOEva van Heck

A Little About You
My name is Eva van Heck, of Dutch nationality but living 7 years in Playa del Carmen.... Playa del Carmen is located on the Caribbean Sea and one of the fastest growing cities in the world, it changed enormously since I arrived here 7 years ago, but still has its typical mexican ambience and relaxed atmosphere. Beachlife is the best way to describe the ambience!!

I am the co-owner of a small dive business 'Pink Panther Divers' (www.pinkpantherdivers.com) and work also as a freelance tourguide, Pink Panther Divers among others in a tour 'snorkeling with whalesharks'. Used to work in the hotel business but seeing the beautifull Caribbean Sea just for about an hour a day during my lunch break, I decided 3 years ago for a complete change and started working as a dive and tourguide and still enjoying it fully! In my free time I like to play beach volleyball, swimming, walking on the beach, watching people on the famous 5a avenida in Playa del Carmen and touring around Mexico to discover new places and traditions....

Your Favorite Place to Shop?
The most important outfit in Playa is a bathing suit and 'Zingara' has a huge collection and several shops in Playa del Carmen. They also have pareos, hats and flipflops to complete your beach outfit....

Sunglasses can't be missed either and you can find all known brands at 'Sunglass Island', they also have several shops along the 5th avenue...

Then my favourite footwear here are flipflops, I have a nice collection of all colours and types (for work, to go to the beach, to go for a walk on the 5th avenue). My latest favourites are the ones designed by Giselle Bundchen from Ipanema. A nice store to find all kind of Havaianas and Ipanema flipflops is called 'It's all about feet'....

For more dressed up clothes it is difficult to find

a nice place in Playa, 'Bershka' and 'Pull and Bear' are the best choice, any other shop has all the typical touristy shirts with Playa del Carmen written on them.... In Cancun (about 60km from Playa) you can find nicer shops with good brands, the one I prefer is 'Zara', because they have the European sizes and trousers have the right length! (is hard to find here because most Mexicans are not that tall)..

Any Local designers you have found?
No local designers...... although there are some typical shops where they sell clothes of a fabric called 'manta' and they have nice designs for the type of beachlife in Playa.

6 Fundamentals for Your Health & Wellbeing - Part 6 Sleep

by Lauren Chandler from Shine Wellbeing

There are six fundamentals to life:Profile Biz Pic 1 -2

  1. Thoughts
  2. Breathing
  3. Hydration
  4. Nutrition
  5. Exercise
  6. Sleep.

Achieving an optimal level of health, fitness and wellbeing (as well as reaching your specific goals) comes from understanding and applying the principles of each.

Sleep -
To play hard and work hard one must learn to rest hard! The quantity of sleep we get is equally as important as the time of day during which we sleep. As Mother Nature intended, our natural sleep/wake cycle works in direct correlation with the sun. Sunshine triggers the release of cortisol, stimulating daytime activities, while at night in the absence of light, melatonin is released – our body’s natural repair system which is vital for maintaining a strong immune system and supporting a healthy body. From 10:30pm until 2am, when asleep, our bodies go through a period of physical repair. Then from 2am until 6am psychological repair takes place. Without this repair time your body will find it difficult to cope with the day to come. Sleep deficiency is often the cause of fatigue, injury, stress, weight gain and even degenerative disease.

In my e-book, The 6 Fundamentals of Life, I go into much more detail on all of the above including how to set and achieve goals, how to change your mindset and thought patterns and how to breathe properly utilising different breathing techniques. There are also tips on eating the right foods for your body type, tips on exercise, the journey of personal growth you can discover through sport and how to
get the best out of your sleep.

Excercise -
It is important for us to move! Muscles help energise the body, lower your biological age and act as a pump assisting the heart. Working smarter, not harder, is the key to increasing your energy and vitality. We want to train our bodies, not drain them, so remember that not all exercises are suitable for every person. Posture, muscle imbalances, injuries, gait, stress and lifestyle factors should all be considered
before starting any exercise program. As humans and athletes, our daily tasks, sports, hobbies and functions, require us to move through a variety of primal patterns including squatting, lunging, bending, pushing, pulling, core movements and walking. Working through these patterns trains our core muscles and stabilisers and improves balance. Therefore it is important to train within these categories as opposed to using stationary machines. If your functional skills begin to weaken, as you get older you will begin to notice how daily tasks become increasingly harder. You become unstable, prone to injury and develop poor posture.

Achieving an optimal level of health, fitness and wellbeing (as well as reaching your specific goals) comes from understanding and applying the principles of each.

Nutrition -
The old adage is true – you are what you eat. What you fuel your body with is one of the key indicators of output and performance. Foods not only contribute to your body shape, they also dictate your mood, energy levels, how well you sleep, immunity, the rate at which your body will age and the health of your skin, eyes, hair and nails. In the long term, poor nutrition can result in the development of degenerative diseases. Every day your body is repairing and renewing itself, completing a full cycle
every five years. The fuel you provide your body with is the foundation for this repair work, aiding the restoration of cells and the creation of new ones. To provide the body with the right fuel, we need a range of 59 vitamins, minerals and nutrients and a balance of good quality carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Just as importantly we need to understand that we have not yet evolved to metabolise the new foods and chemicals that have been introduced into our diets – foods and chemicals such as wheat, refined grains, preservatives, colourings, flavourings, additives and the chemicals that are sprayed onto our crops or included in the feed of livestock. A lack of nutrients and the intake of chemicals is now the leading cause of poor health and obesity.

Achieving an optimal level of health, fitness and wellbeing (as well as reaching your specific goals) comes from understanding and applying the principles of each.

Hydration -
Whilst it’s true that the human body is made up of approximately 70-80% water and we should be drinking eight cups of water each day to stay healthy (more if you are exercising or working in the heat, etc), there are a few other important factors to consider when looking to maintain a healthy state of hydration. Water is the only drink the body is naturally designed for and water quality is very
important! It is best to drink water that is chlorine and fluoride free, so drink spring water or use a good quality filter. Sip your water throughout the day rather than gulping it down in one go because by the time you have a dry mouth or are thirsty, you are already seriously dehydrated! Dehydration is often the cause of chronic pain, high blood pressure, heartburn, fatigue, a loss of mental clarity and an inability to perform. Remember to drink before meals, not during.

Breathing -
Breathing is important for two reasons. It’s the only means by which we can supply oxygen to our bodies and it’s one of our body’s ways of eliminating waste products and toxins. How you breathe affects the way you perform not only during exercise or training, but also throughout your daily activities. Breathing affects your ability to maintain mental clarity and a healthy physical state. If the brain does not get a proper supply of oxygen the result is the degradation of all the vital organs. Breathing insufficiently during exercise can actually be counterproductive, leading to an increased level of stress in the body as well as gains in body fat.

Thoughts -
Everything begins with a thought. Our bodies follow our minds and thoughts. Our thoughts create our reality. Your current situation, your lifestyle, your health and so on, is the sum total of your thoughts – you get what you focus on. This is why the first step to health and fitness is identifying what it is you want and turning it into a SMART goal – a goal which is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and
Timed. Applying faith, belief and energy to your goals brings them into reality!

What Are you Planning For?

I have asked Jacqueline Cornaby to share her thoughts with you on the Style Angel Blog site. Jacqueline and I met during Anthony Robbins' "Unleash the Power Within" event in Sydney and again during the Anthony Robbins "Life Mastery" series back in 2001 so we met again in Miami, Hawai and Sydney.

I asked Jacqueline to become my Life & Business Coach a few years ago to help me set up my business, even though we are not in same country and time zone, and needless to say she made a huge impact on my life and my Personal Styling business Style Angel. She has a great newsletter and CD series called Go Goddess Go. She is a Dynamo, a real Goddess and a great speaker and you can read more about her on her website Jacqueline International.

What Are you Planning For?Cornaby342860

By Guest Blogger and Life Coach Jacqueline Cornaby from Dallas Texas, USA

"We are always planning for something in our lives whether in the near or distant future with our thoughts.  Perhaps a better question to ask, “What have you been thinking lately”?  Does it serve you?  Does it allow the grandest vision of you to show up in life, does it move you closer or further away from your Dreams?  We get whatever we think about whether we want it or not.

Whatever you focus upon Expands!  You have a choice to focus upon Abundance or Lack.  Abundance is all that you are, all that you have, all that you want, and all that is good; Lack is all that you are not, all that you do not have, all that you do not want, and all that is wrong.

This is an invitation to FEEL GOOD No Matter What!  It is permission granted to think and plan for a life that is a true reflection of your potential beginning with your thoughts right now.

Awaken to your potential and you become aware that you are more than your circumstance!  Magnify your Greatness not your problems.

Here’s to The Grandest Vision of You!  Think and Play Big on this Planet!"

6 Fundamentals of Your Health & Wellbeing - Introduction

by Style Angel Guest Blogger Lauren Chandler from Shine Wellbeing Solutions

Australia is in the midst of a health care crisis across all age categories. The world health organization believes we are faced with an obesity epidemic and considers ShineLogo 70 - 90% of the population to be  unhealthy. 80% of today's ailments are caused by all types of stress. People are not taking responsibility for their health, they are disempowered!

Migraines, back pain, depression and degenerative diseases  including obesity are not a normal part of life. They were never Mother Nature's intention. Our bodies don't have a shortage of  drugs. It is time  to stop looking for the quick fix and time to  start taking control and responsibility for our health.
