Triangle Shape is the most common female shape
Bottom heavy frame arising from narrow shoulders, small waist and large hips
The aim is to create balance by visually broadening your upper body
DO’s
- Use Horizontal lines upper body
- Bring the attention upwards to the bust area, puff sleeves broaden the shoulders to balance your lower body.
- Dresses that are body-hugging on the top, accentuate your tiny waist and then drape outwards, drawing a discreet veil over the width of your thighs. (wrap dresses are a great style to try)
- Big Lapel jackets and wide-cut necklines serve to broaden the appearance of your shoulders, balancing the bottom half.
- A cropped jacket gives the illusion of lengthening your legs and it’s sufficiently hugging to enhance your well defined waist.
- Broad lapels on a winter jacket draw the eye to your shoulders and show a shapely torso. Make sure the coat flares to the knee, covering the bulge of your thighs.
- A jumper worn over a shirt, t-shirt or blouse moulds to your figure and gives you a curvy shape.
- Wide-leg or straight pants in a flat fronted style that hang from the top of your bottom and don’t cling to your thighs.
- Wear a darker colour on the lower half of your body to help slim the legs.
- Use Vertical lines lower body
- Straight & slightly flared skirts (A-line is a good choice)
- Shape wear that is like a biker pants to skim the thighs and bottom and enhance the slim waist and flat stomach.
DON’Ts
- Stiff fabrics
- Shapeless garments
- Side Pockets on pants (look out for angled pockets that don’t pull when you walk or appear to be straining)
- Full Skirts with open pleats
- Pencil skirts
- Tapered pants (like the fashionable skinny jeans)
- Jodhpurs (like horse-riding pants)
- Spaghetti-strap tops
- Jackets that cut across the bum
